Humanity Poem by Purity Chapel

Humanity

Rating: 3.0

I encountered a strange sight
While covered in the warm blanket of Summer.
I beheld a progressing fight
Of a man between wake and slumber.

I knelt by his shaking frame
And observed how splendid
His being exposed his shame-
His innocence had ended!

Thorns sprouted from the grime
Occupying his blackened heart.
Wretched Humanity, worn by crime-
From thee I must depart!
