Hugs Poem by David Harris

Hugs

Rating: 5.0

Hugs are for affection
given to those you care about.
I use them as my trademark
then the ladies know I am about.
One lady that I know
whenever we meet
to hug me takes a flying leap
nearly knocking me off my feet.
Another lady that I know
when she hugs me I have the feeling
she never wants to let me go.
Everyone loves a hug
as it shows you care.
Even our pets like a hug
as it shows them we are there.
Therefore, when you meet someone
you like or love,
give them a big hug
and let your affections flow.

David, this is such great advice. I admit sometimes I feel someone is straining in their greeting; it's overflowing and they need a hug, but I catch myself hanging back as if afraid they would feel overwhelmed by so much. But we humans just need to reach out and touch each other more, dang it. Thanks for the reminder.

What a wonderful, sweet poem this is sir... I always believed that hug is better than a handshake. Handshakes are too formal and too cold isn't it? ? For instance how sweet it will be, if some one like Barack Obama hug Jhon Maccain(no offense i mean) .. Yeah, hugs are wonderful! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Cheers Shan

Wise advice, David. There's nothing like a hug to mend whatever needs mending. The transference of energy is the best thing you can give to another person. It says so much more than mere words. There are simply not enough hugs given in this world, and we need to remedy that. A lovely read! Linda :) xxx
