Hugger-Mugger Poem by Chester Maynes

Hugger-Mugger

Let me emphasize
The thought of being
In chaos.
Empty countenance
Tells something is
Wrong.
Into the deep
Corner of this mind
Confines the
Battle between
Good and evil.
It tends me to
Discard the unpleasant
Acts toward
Temptation.
Sometimes I ended
In wrong decisions.
Flesh tells me
It is ok.
What if I
Focus at each
Consequence?
In the brink of
Liking I secretly choose.
In a blink of an eye
I am caught flat footed,
Confused with remorse.
Do not listen to
The lies of the enemy.
In conviction
There is repentance.
