How To Prove? Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

I may be proved as dark horse
It may be difficult for others to subdue me by force
I act as per my own best conscience
It has got its own importance and relevance

How can I be different from others?
This idea always hounds me and bothers
I got to move smoothly and fall in line
Even if it not to my liking and out of tune

I can’t stand in whole universe as only person
known as humble and obedient son,
I can’t be fed always with in spoon,
It may so happen that I stand to loose race very soon

I will have to excel and steal the show
sometimes to side with wrong people and whole weight throw
Not to show favor but ready to go,
Chances to remain with them may be dim but can’t forgo,

How to survive in this selfish and ignorant world?
Where hollow promises matter the word
Cheating and deceiving are only strong parameters
Situation differs from place to place but never alters

I have to lie to many people and shed tears
It has tremendous effect and largely bears
I may have strong apprehension and worst fears
There is no other option but to offer three cheers

All was just all for fake show
It was not at all for good relation to grow
I could make little impact and went slow
I knew it from beginning it will block the flow

People too became weary and were asking why?
I never had commotion or felt regret and shy
the role was different but had to play
I was aware but had no other way

I can’t stand all alone but have to side,
keeping all secrets to self but not to confide,
I may be wrong but not all the time
Life is to believed with simple goal prime

Sometimes you have to kill your own conscience
You may not like to live with it in presence
Still it has so many compulsions to be kept in mind
Ways and means to be searched for and find

If you remain stick to one particular view
You may never get your legitimate due
People may disregard and often insult
They will not bother you even to consult

So think of remaining different
It may be visible and apparent
This is the quality inherent
It is the only ideal choice at present
