How Time Flies

How time flies
- - - - - - - - - -
I have seen
How a day gone
In a second
A month in a day
A year in a month
A decade in a year
A life in a decade
And love in a second

Beneath a lush green tree
Sitting I was
Alone and pensive
When a fruit fell
On my lap ripe and
Carrying smell sweet
Picked up and saw
By soft beak pricked
Sunken into hollow deep
And saw the culprit in
Slumbering still and quiet

Him I stirred
But left before being grilled
On how he mesmerized
Green unto yellow
And yellow unto brown
You bring me here
And evanesce where
I know not my dear

An illusive captive
Once by tricks of tears
Him firmly I fastened
But escaped like a magician trained
The stealer of youth, truth and trust
How could I believe?
That you had not stolen love dearest
Oh! Magician I beseech
To transform brown
Unto green for a moment....

A fantastic poem. Loved the imagery of words you used to portray... Very true said, time flies away so fast, some moments we feel to relish it once again but time cannot be reversed. I loved the lines..... Oh! Magician I beseech To transform brown Unto green for a moment.... Loved reading it.

This is an amazingly beautiful poem..... Time flies and seasons rush from verdant spring to ripening autumn and dead winter! The fruit pricked down by the bird showing its green rind, its yellow pulp and its brown hard nut inside is a well chosen metaphor! However we wish, retracing our steps back to where we started is impossible! For this you deserve full marks Deepak!

That speedy flight of time adds to the charms of life. Our life is a beautiful entity and we have our pace here to the fill. The pathos and the inability to have a reversal are certainly a setback in our life.. A fine write Pattnaikji.
