How Must Your Spouse Be? Poem by Dr John Celes

How Must Your Spouse Be?

In life, your partner must be one
A trusted soul indeed;
Your spouse need not shine like the sun,
Just be a fascinating reed.

What’s prime is beauty of the heart,
Courageous to the core;
But being witty is an art,
That makes life worth living, not bore.

Your spouse need not be glorified
Or be sinister, sly;
Forgotten is life’s joyful ride
When biased people ply.
