How Much Is In A Kiss? Poem by DiAnne Douglass

How Much Is In A Kiss?

How much is in a kiss?
How much effort,
How much pain?
How much laughter,
How much gain?

How much is in a kiss?
How much love,
How much hatred?
How much joy,
How much feeling?

How many things are put into a kiss?
How many hopes,
How many dreams?
How many tears,
How many schemes?

What is really in a kiss?
Is it bitter,
Is it sweet?
Is it bittersweet?
Is it loving,
Is it kind?
Is it full or truths,
Or full or lies?

It all depends on the kiss
On who is kissing who
On why the kiss was made
A kiss is scared
A kiss is a gift
A kiss is a present
Wrapped in chocolate
Or smothered in love

How much is in a kiss?
How much spite,
How much malice?
How much hatred,
How much pain?
How much effort,
How much feeling?

How much is in a kiss?
