How Do You Know Poem by Dani Abstract

How Do You Know

How do you know they're not the one for you
The one to turn your gray skies blue
You'll never know that if you keep holding back
But you're afraid to try something new

How do you know they're not that guiding light
The one to end those lonely nights
But you're still scared, a broken heart you can't bare
So you try to stay hidden from their sight

How do you know he's not that answered prayer
The one who's love you can't compare
To those who made you cry, made you wish you could die
But still your fear won't let you dare

How do you know they can't make your heart dance
This could be a once in a lifetime romance
But you won't open your heart, still keeping up your guard
You'll never know if you don't take a chance

How will you ever know if you never try
You could be telling the love of your life goodbye
Hauntings from the past make you think it won't last
Then when you're old and lonely you'll wonder why
