House Of Eloi Poem by Obed dela Cruz

House Of Eloi

Away from the shrines
Of abominated grace
Taught by hired sophists
Who turned away from God’s face.

Take me to the house
Where lies have no audience
And Truth does abide
In His zone of prominence.

Rebuke me, I pray
For it has been a long time
Since anyone cared
To make blunt virtue a prime.

Why did I forbid
Myself from the fellowship
That can be availed
Without consequences’ whip?

Oh, to escapade
The district of Elohim
Is what I beg for
From where my deep hopes do brim.

Have me treasure more
The beauty of His justice,
Respect for His laws,
And the stewardship of peace!

As to that region
My living odyssey’s led;
May I not be swayed,
But sustained on holy tread!
