House Is Down Poem by Chris Leermakers

House Is Down

Why did you play with my fire?
yes tell me why
did you really think
you could set me alight?
I never wanted to fight
don't shoot the messenger
that's an old and obvious mistake
but you've given
more shit than anyone could take

Why did you play with your fire?
yeah you set yourself alight
i'm out of water
all out of that type of water
now you're going to burn
and you can't even swim yet
just forget about me
because i've already forgotten about you

I have many friends
even In the dark storm
don't need your words
don't need your care
I don't even need your stare
don't need you at all
because you're about to fall

We're are going to bring the whole thing down
burn the whole house down
your whole corrupt system down
yeah we're taking
the whole house down
yeah even the burning flag
the old world order is coming down

We didn't start this war,
but It's already ended
you're all already defeated
you should have opened your eyes at the beginning
you didn't even know It was already over
It was always In our bag
can't you hear us singing?

We're not afraid of any of your armies
not afraid Of your police
not scared of your bullshit media
yeah we're just not afraid of any of you muppets or your dark charades
yeah muppets like you -
even If you're in the sun
watch the dominoes fall
one by one
destroying all your elitist fun

We all gave you a chance
a chance to back away
but no listening, just ignoring
on your end i'm afraid,
so I'm bringing the whole lot down, today, not tomorrow
-the house Is down
the old world order has now lost its crown

We all can still see all those skeletons falling out of your closets
even out of your drawers
while the monkeys are still latched tight, watch out for their bites
latched right on to your backs forever
and I bet you all are sore
the house is down forever more.
