House Hunting Poem by Nalini Jyotsana Chaturvedi

House Hunting

Rating: 4.5

All that I need is a quite sanctuary
Where wilderness abounds
No more life of drudgery.

All that I want
is to sing away my songs
With the birds and bees and crickets
And I know no humans would throng.
They would not survive the thicket

Just a handful of earth,
And an armload of sky
I will rebuild my nest
With no one else's rules to comply

If I can't get this
Then I will hide
In the ocean waters
When the tide is high

And in the deep sea
I'll finally reside
In an empty shell
Spend the rest of my life
