Hopes For My Future Poem by Jeri Martindale

Hopes For My Future

It seems as if I don't know which way to turn, who shall hold me in their arms until the end, the love of my life who is this man?
Who will finally take my breath away, who will I finally give all of myself to and appreciate those extremely small things that I do to make them feel special?

May I know now, I can't wait any longer my friend.
I'm already ready to spend my life with him. the one that will make me explode as he holds me and looks deep into my eyes like he seems to see me and shows me that he does know the person deep inside of me.

I want to smile at him each morning as I awake and make love to him in the middle of the night and then lay there staring at his naked body as he sleeps silently by my side; while I allow the feelings rushing inside, enticing the thoughts that cross my mind.

I am special and need someone special to comfort me; will he ever come to me? I realize I need him by side. Will I know him when I look into his eyes? I know that he will make my body quiver as he holds me the first time.

I already know so much about him, why have I not met him or did I let him in or is he the one who ran away afraid of the power I expressed to him as I gave a small glance of the power I held within.

Yes. I really can make him fly, all that he has to do is hop on and come along as I take him across the sky, yet I have yet to find the one who brings out the magic I have hidden that guides me though this life.

I've been writing about it all my life. I am ready to let it flow from my heart, body and soul to surround that special someone as it becomes free. I promise the soul I belong with it will guide us into the end as long as he believes in me until the end.

What an exciting ride on top a shooting star and a rest upon the clouds; I hope to one day be able to release it.
