While pain reigns and fear rules
My heart cries out
Is there no end
Long after the words have ceased
The voices echo within my ears
Tearing deep into my heart
Till it sees no hope left
As my soul starts to wonder
What evil have I done to cause
Such misery to those around me
Then I see what screams as truth
Hiding deep inside the echoes
Still ringing in my ears
I must have brought this on
I must have done something wrong
Then my heart starts to wonder
If I were to part ways with this world
Could I end the pain I'm causing
The pain can end
But I don't need to die
Hope can be found
I can be freed from this unending night
I've been ruled by fear
I've felt pain
I tasted despair
I found my way out
From under the nightmare
And now
Have tasted the light of hope
Don't listen to the voices that cause the pain
You cannot be worthless
So long as you can breath
You cannot be a waste
There is always value
There is always strength
To tell someone they have no value
Is to paint a picture of lies
Through the hate that binds their hearts
There is a hope that can be found
You have no need to stay in their prison
Your heart can be set free
The fear that holds your chest can end
Hope can come
No matter how dark the storms may be
Hope can lift you from the pain that is your life
No matter how dark the fear may be
A light can come
You have a worth
You have a value
You have the right to dream
You have the right to hurt
You have the right to cry
You have the right to be loved
There are hands who care
There are hands that are stretched out
There are hands ready to lift
There are hands ready to give you love
There are hands ready to show you how to love
You can see them too
If you just reach beyond the veil of lies
Painted by hearts bound in hate
And then you can find the hope
That I now have
I've felt your pain
I found a way to end the pain
And free my dreams
As I taste hope
And embrace joy
And when you're free
We can guide your strength
And channel your drive
So you too can find a friend
To share the hope
You now hold within
As you stand to lift them from their despair
And rise up a hero
In another's eyes
