Hope for the Best

Everything is falling apart.
I don't know what to do.
Thoughts are chasing after me,
as if stuck by glue.
But the only thing I can do is
Hope for the Best.

My brother came by my art room.
Silent.
Me drawing a rose bloom.
He scares me witless,
thus causing my pictures doom.
I sigh, with only one thought.
Hope for the Best.

I Hope for the Best.
I finally realize I am severely blessed.
I have passed every test.
But now, all I can do is
Hope for the Best.

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I was inspired by my student teacher. She was writing a book, which happened to be called 'Hope For the Best'. It gave me the idea for this. So I dedicate this poem to her. Thank you! !

poet Walt Whitman

ARM’D year! year of the struggle!

Not you as some pale poetling, seated at a desk, lisping cadenzas
