Hope Poem by oluokun david

Hope

I spent a million years waiting on hope
At a busy junction of indecision
Where demons tease and angels beg
But mankind chose to rule their own
Youth came with me
He brought his friends
A group of blinded hedonists
Their hasty legs and boundless thoughts
If hope comes now
He'll pass me by.

Did i know love or was it bleak
She made sing in endless rhymes
She left my soul
The sky went dark
Hope came and went but where was I?

Greed came along and met me there
With craftiness and tempting words
He took my pass and delayed hope
Youth stayed there in the sweet past
He was too young to wait with me
I'm all alone
I'm weak and old

If hope comes through
Will i embark?
