Hope Poem by Rajesh Thankappan

Hope

‘Hope' descends on silent wings
And in the darkness
About brightness sings.

Her songs are so soothing to hear
That we are more than willing
To lend it an ear.

Hope is a guide in the raging storm
When the sea looks shore-less
And the weather forlorn.

It is like finding water in the desert
By an unfortunate traveller
Otherwise doomed to die of thirst.

It is like a flag fluttering on a sinking ship
That waves on unwaveringly
Until it plunges into the abysmal deep!
