Living on Hope

The days go by so slowly yet so fast
her once shining future is already her past.
She longs for glitter and yearns for the gold
she can achieve anything she desires is what she is told
Chasing dreams only she understands
wanting to end up far away and in foreign lands
Surrendering her heart to a master at play
she's left only with hope each and every day
looking through tear stained eyes
hope tells her reach for the skies
