There used to be letters,
There used to be greeting cards,
And I hope, One day I won't say,
There used to be expressions.

There used to be kerosene lamps,
There used to be sun-lit houses,
And I hope, One day I won't say,
There used to be a night.

There used to be the plague,
There used to be the small pox,
And I hope, One day I won't say,
There used to be the healthy.

There used to be dinosaurs,
There used to be the albetross,
And I hope, One day I won't say,
There used to be a man...
