Hooks In The Hallway Poem by Kevin Seales

Hooks In The Hallway

First thing I do
When I get to school
I hang my coat on a hook

If I were you
I'd follow the rule
And not throw away my books

Hooks in the hallway
Have only one purpose
To keep coats and hats off the floor

If I had it my way
I'd choose a hidden surface
Like my locker, and I'd close the door

But I have everything
I ever owned
Inside this little space

I guess I shouldn't bring
My stuff from home
Cause my coat won't fit in this place

But now I'm concerned
Cause my locker is too small
And there's no other place to look

I guess I have learned
To go in the hall
And hang my coat on a hook
