Homework Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Homework

Homework

An anchor presents
She relies on column
That consists of a team
Each has job that varies
From root to fruit…
The topic is "homework".
Home?
And
Work?
I listen with ears
Eyes in search
And floats the laughter
In silence of smile.

I repeat:
Home?
And
Work?
And with it travel
Reach childhood,
Time of youth.
Some may say:
"Miserable! "
I listen, keep silent
That is my best answer.
Born and lived at mountains
Not on top, at skirts
Saw people and parents
All lovely hard-workers
Nobody complained…
Naturally I dived in…
At four? Five? Or three?
Whatever, too early!
It was work and was joy
Was helping and learning
What right to complain?
Then flood and in town, started at age five…also went to school…
Not easy, with hardship…but made it…
Worked till late in my teens
And did my homework too…
Forgot when could sleep…but made it!
