Homecoming (Fav) Poem by Khloe Chace

Homecoming (Fav)

Trudging through the halls, walking all alone
Roses being passed n' kisses being blown
Talking about where to go eat dinner
With their dates they're only waiting on their limo

Homecoming the lonliness stabs like a thin dull knife
Homecoming could be the best night of my life
Homecoming how I wish those roses were to me
With a little note saying, 'Will you go with me? Homecoming'

Another girl right by me
Gets asked by the boy of her dreams.
Another one feels the sunlight
And another one bites the dust

Homecoming, sitting in class
Watching notes being passed
With flowy cursive printing and heart dotted I's
And they're to Kristen, Anna, Heather, Melanie
Seems to be to every girl here but me

Homecoming the lonliness stabs like a thin dull knife
Homecoming could be the best night of my life
Homecoming how I wish those roses were to me
With a little note saying, 'Will you go with me? Homecoming'

I hear the question being thrown from every single direction
Everyone has a someone, so why's this so complicated?
Time froze when my shoulder felt a tap and
When I spun around, my face lit up when I saw something in his hand
With a little note saying 'Will you go with me homecoming'

Homecoming the view from the mountaintop was worth the steep climb
Homecoming it was surely the best night of my life
Homecoming Now the roses finally belong to me
Homecoming I forgot what it felt like to be lonely

Who would have guessed, this new found princess
Once was trudging through the halls, walking all alone
Watching roses being passed and kisses being blown
