Home Sweet Home Poem by Osvaldo Govea

Home Sweet Home

As the ocean mist caresses my face
And the sun beams down on my skin
I feel the cool breeze
And I breathe it in
As the seagulls fly above,
Looking down at me
I walk along the beach
Admiring its beauty
The wet sand under my feet
Feels squishy and sweet
I sit on the sand
Letting the waves hit my feet
I squeeze a lime into my corona
I realize the air is dry
And it’s hot as hell
And all I see is cacti
And plenty of tumble weeds
I am somewhere you wouldn’t want to be
It’s all desert, it’s all gay
Its El Paso what can I say?
Just kidding I love El Paso! ! !
