'Home Improvement' Poem by Michael Micmac Mccrory

'Home Improvement'

‘Home Improvement’

Dirty walls
Dust everywhere
Mucky carpets
Grimy windows

A weeks worth of dirty dishes
Waiting in the kitchen sink
A months worth of dirty clothes
Strewn around the floor
Washing machine
Waiting unused in the utility room

Several weeks of takeaway boxes
In several weeks of bin bags
And one weeks more to come
To add to the piles already here

I’m getting married next week
Bringing home a new wife
She’ll clean the mess
My sweet little home improvement

Michael (Micmac) Mccrory
