Homage To A Lost Queen Poem by Idris Adesina

Homage To A Lost Queen

I wish back the lost times
The nights we sang in
rhymes
When lazy lovers slept on
limes.
When the sun quarreled his rival
To keep us in days
The stars on interval
Came to give their blessing
with race
To our mighty love;
stronger than the rocky
bed
Angels changed guards to
guard our golden bed

I wish she never built the
flaw
As me wish never saw
But now like a lonely sea
I forlon all minutes but can't
see
Hating Cupid!
Why have thou shot so
stupid
A poisonous arrow unto us?
We that every partners
jealous
We that all flowers grew for
We the Prophets-that saw
from the ocean floor
We that love when they
hate
intoxicated by each beauty
beyond rate

Diss envious West book!
Thou on the hoof held her
head hook or crook
And cajoled her dear
innocence
Since with silly sense you
spiked my Princess
Have me own the wig or
world,
I would a plague on you or
sword
For nightmaring our dream
Dip in deep doom, I deem.
Fealty. I worship thy deity
Alack! Thine didn't shine
Still I shall worship thy deity
If thou show me the shrine.
Lo! None again 'this' name
And in my heart hid to tame
Thou in the heart all time
