Ho, Ho, Ho! Poem by George Hunter

Ho, Ho, Ho!

The censors are harassing Santa mo and mo,
No longer can he say “Ho, Ho Ho!
Sounds too much like a word
I’m sure you have heard
Used mainly in the ghet-to

Pirates said Yo Ho Ho all the time.
They couldn’t drink rum without that rhyme.
And in days of yore a whore was a whore,
No euphemism to muddy the score.
And expressing yourself not a crime..

It’s getting more stupid each day,
Just one more thing you can’t say.
If it’s not politically correct,
It can have an effect
From here to Mandalay.

Santa’s said it for years,
And brought many cheers.
So to steal Santa’s word
Is surely absurd.
At least that’s the way it appears.

So say what you will
The heck with the bill
Some people get nutty
Trying to find something smutty.
And bend everyone to their will

So I say to them all
The long and the short and tall
This is so silly
And so willy-nilly
That we shouldn’t bother at all
