Hitch-Hiker To The Stars Poem by YURI DURAAN

Hitch-Hiker To The Stars

Rating: 5.0

Tonight I saw a hitch-hiker on the
black highways of my mind -
travelling to Beyond-the-Silvermoon...

Will I take him there?
Could I dare?
to leave behind my red shoes and
my pearls
following him, the
Dark Prince of my secret fantasies,
to a netherworld of roads,
all leading to the Golden Cities
of my imagination...

Will I take him there?
Could I dare?
to remove my black dress
and pink underwear,
down Tequila with the Devil
and get lost on the roads to the
Golden Cities....

leaving me by the side of
the black highways -
trying to find my way back
to my safe-and-warm pond...
to you
always you.

black dress, tequila, and pink underwear- all the things i like in a woman. If it's a pink thong then this gets a 10

I do believe we all have that perfect woman or man on the backs of our minds which is why i wrote 'perfect...in your dreams' because, as a certain singer sang ' if you can't be with the one you love then love the one you with' we can't always have our dream mate so stay with reality and always keep the dream.

What a fantastically well composed write, believe in your dreams it makes the heart grow fonder, when we're lucky enough to dream of such beautiful things to remember.10/10 Best wishes Jon

I love this, it has an other-worldly feel to it, especially like how you come back to home, almost like Dorothy in Wizard of Oz. Lovely imaginative write. HG: -) xx

We always dream of throwing our hat over the rooftops Yuri but mostly have sense enough to let it just remain a dream
