Highway Of Holiness Poem by Terrance Tracy

Highway Of Holiness

There is a road, free of toll; humanity has dismissed its egress, a fool's address.

Insanity without toll is a road proclaimed; an archer and his bow would protect one from the burden of his load.

An archer and his bow, was the choice humanity put his trust, without the thought of holiness to protect them from their foe.

The archer trod to string his bow, an arrow launched in the direction of the narrow gate, only to see the flight of the arrow meet its fate; an arrow in sin was wide of the gate.

Highway of Holiness is not bitter and cold, however, the contrivance of the bow is one highway we are tempted to trust, perchance the archer has no reliance, and the archer can lead many astray on a highway of violence to enhance the vexation of the soul.

When one travels, on the road, if an archer stringing his bow, is sure of the bend; trusting his arrow flies straight to the path he takes is a highway of holiness that ends at the narrow gate.

The arrow's flow is straight; the bow will bend but will not break; the sin of the arrow's path will not deviate from its course to the gate, this is the faith God will appreciate.

On the highway of holiness, the unclean cannot pass; the easy path is wide for an errant arrow to glide; trusting in a misguided arrow, launched in arrogance, the archer has put his target void of direction to secure sanctification.

Those who chose to travel the old ways as the path to travel, a highway of holiness is for the archer to travel, though he be a fool, he will not go astray.

The archer travels on a highway of holiness has no need for his bow; the lion and the ravenous beasts shall not be found there; no place for the arrow to glean a target, for he is redeemed, being proclaimed clean, the archer has found a home on the Highway of Holiness until the end of days.
