High School Poem by Nashy Lamen

High School

Rating: 5.0

A flickering light opens my eyes,
The morning sun has risen,
Another day, same old routine,
Another lecture to listen.

But the bell rings loudly, day slowly breaks,
The happiness now felt,
The laughter and the stories shared,
Another day we've dealt.

Three years has gone, we've slowly grown,
more matured than before,
Memories we've suddenly remembered,
The times abruptly passed.

Your alter ego, your close chums,
they laugh and tease about,
Those times stuck in computer shops,
Or times when we were out.

The movies that were widely screened,
The songs were out of tune,
Those burried notes beside the tree,
Those nights and afternoons.

Those scribbled notes we passed around,
Those teary eyes we've shown,
Those pain and hurts we've had before,
Those tantrums we have thrown.

The girls that learned from haunted past,
The boys that slowly grow,
The rules were broken one by one,
The secrets that we now know.

The young lovers uttering,
their words of adoration,
Hiding, peeping whispering,
Their thoughts of sweet affection.

Her Romeo, His Juliet,
Alas they separate,
Graduation nearing, months from now,
More things to contemplate.

You stop and then you realize,
A year has yet to remain,
Discern things out and fix things up,
More memories yet to gain.

Wow. I could relate, since I myself am a high school student. They say high school is the best time of your life, and I believe they're true. Beautiful poem, truthfully written.

Every second...is like a grain of diamond..more precious even...Thanks for your poem, and thanks for reminding us that one year may not be enough to fix all the things, but enough to enjoy the things we could enjoy then. ^_^

awww... this reminds me that we'll be apart soon... many years have passed, and only few months to go... cherish every second with the ones close to your heart... never let your pride control you... =)
