Hidden (The Real Me) Poem by Ocean Myranda

Hidden (The Real Me)

People think they know me,
They think that I’m easy,
If only they could see,
How I’m not free.

They just don’t see the fact that they are wrong,
Even if my life sounds like a depressing song,
You think that I’m not weak, but strong,
I just hope it won’t be long.

They tell me to get over you,
I can’t though; they don’t know what my heart is going through,
If they just stop judging me then they would get a clue,
I just want to be happy, not blue.

I need you to be here,
For you, I fear,
I don’t want to push you away, I want you near,
I am scared to show my feelings, sometimes I wish I could disappear.

My friends and family think they know,
They think that I am always happy and so,
No matter what, I just want to go,
It’s been so long since I’ve been able to let my feelings show.

If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be as happy as I am,
Feels like my sadness is hidden by a dam,
I’m no longer alone, for the shepherd has found his lamb,
No more doors being shut with a slam.

No longer in water that is over my head,
No longer having to be filled with dread,
No longer having tears shed,
All the horrible feelings have fled.

People think they know me,
They think that I’m easy,
If only they could see,
That I am now free!
