Hidden In My Poetry? Poem by JoAnn McGrath

Hidden In My Poetry?

Hidden In My Poetry?

Are my thoughts revealed?
Like rice paper conceals
Feelings and emotions visible
Ideas and views seeable
Secrets longing to break free
Buried deep inside of me
As I place my pen upon the page
and summon words up to this stage
These words I write for all to see
Thoughts not so hidden in my poetry

Oooooh I really love the 'rice paper' imagery. I am a little jealous that I didn't think of it first though. Really fine poem JoJo thanks.

I agree with David below.... Poetry gives glimpses of your soul.... Words slipping from your subconcience onto a warm page.... Rx

Loved this, JoJo. Tis so true that even when we try to hide, our real thoughts too often creep into our writings. I often try to be vague, but am usually unsuccessful. This is a fine poem, I enjoyed it very much. Regards, Leria

Lil sis, As Mark said, your writing reveals, not hides. We all do it, it helps us face ourselves and share who we are. Great poem. Top marks and thanks for sharing it. Big Bruv
