Hidden Poem by Phillip Dodham Cormier

Hidden

Why am I so different? Why do I hide?
Why are they different? Why do they hide?

Murders, cutters, lovers, politicians
All the same. No one is different yet no is the same
The world spins never stopping. No one cares
The world is full of people. People who are hidden
Everyday we pass them, everyday they pass us
Why do they hide? Why do we hide?
What is this life we live?

Why am I so different? Why do I hide?
Why are they different? Why do they hide?
Why am I so different? Why do I hide?
Why are they different? Why do they hide?

The world separates us.
Loves brings us together, but no one can see it.
No one seems to care. I hide form the world. Strangers hide from the world.
Love binds us together but we still are afraid. Afraid of the ifs, afraid of the buts.
Life is nothing more than ifs and buts. The world hides from them. The world hides from the future. There is nothing left for us if we hide.

Why am I so different? Why do I hide?
Why are they different? Why do they hide?
Why am I so different? Why do I hide?
Why are they different? Why do they hide?

The truth is out there. Murders, cutters, lovers, politicians
All the same. No one is different yet no is the same
The world traps us when all we need is love. We need to know what it is to love
Yet we hide. We hide from those who love us, those we love.
No one is different yet no one is the same.
Help we cry out, help but the answer is never there. No one can see it no one can perceive it. Why oh why is the world like this. Doomed from the beginning.
We are doomed if we don’t stop being hidden.

Why am I so different? Why do I hide?
Why are they different? Why do they hide?
Why am I so different? Why do I hide?
Why are they different? Why do they hide?
