Hidden Poem by Victor Henderson

Hidden

They will never know how much I hurt,
How much I burn,
They will never know how hard I work to stay good and sane,
How much I want to numb the pain,
They only know the smile that I grace them with,
I won't burden them with this madness,
They don't know how I pray for an angel to help fight my demons,
Praying for something to let me feel at ease,
Down on my hands and knees O God I plead.
