Hibiscus Poem by Kaila George

Hibiscus

It flourishes in the tropical sun
Its colours radiant
A burst of sun

It dots the land
In a tropical breeze
Were the coconut trees
Sway too and thro

The sent sways sweetly
Around you in bliss
Its colours so soft
It makes you think
Of a rainbow just passed
In it's beautiful wake

Vibrant the colours
Captured in tapestry art
A custom we have
From a culture lost

Its beauty sublime
It's a work of art
One that was made
By the creators hand

A touching write that uses the subject of Hibiscus to great effect in the description of how you view these delicate flowers and their appearance to your artistic eye of detail. The third and fourth stanzas are my favourite where your affection for this flower comes out the most detail with flourished embellishment with great effect. Your mother would be honoured in this work, and the respect you have for the art of your culture. Thank you for sharing it was a learned experience
