Hey Ram, With These Words, Slept You, Slept You Forever



Hey Ram,
With these words
Spelt from,
Slept you for ever,
Before the world could know,
You slept for ever,
Gandhi!

Hey Ram!
O Rama!
Lies it inscribed on his samadhi
At Rajghat,
The light burnging,
Flower-petals scattered over

And the lips whispered it
And slept he for ever,
The old saint,
Closed he the eyes forever.
