Hey Erma! Poem by Nvisible 2Luv

Hey Erma!

Rating: 5.0

Hey Erma!

Life sometimes has a way
Of saying, just slow down.
Things come & go incessantly.
It's the moments in which we should drown.
Not the deadlines, the timeclock, the traffic.
Thieves of many a soul.
Free will, pleasing work and the people we love
Are the cherries in life's bowl.

So of that bestselling book
Though the author I admire
I imagine the possible progression
Beneath her title of satire.
See her bowl may once have been bountiful
But thieves in the night crept in.
They began by stealing some time
Things that mattered soon grew thin.
Left stressed, lonesome & tired
It was all she could do not to quit.
When she discovered they had stolen her cherries
And left her with only the pits.
