Heroism

Rating: 4.8

The only heroism I envy
is that of the rooster.
Ready to die for his female folk.

I never sympathized any kind of heroism promoted by different kinds of authorities.Their plea had always an aroma of exploitation. To protect women seems to me a man's everyday's duty. What hurts me more is that they still need protection.

What hurts me more is that (women) still need protection. Amen to that. Heroism is so bound up with the ancient culture of Greece it seems to be pervasive and noble. My adolescence was dominated by the Homeric heroes. An exemplary passage from the Iliad: When Hector and Andromache meet briefly while the battles rages and confront Troy's inevitable defeat, she tells him how Achilles slaughtered her brothers and he is now her only protector. That is a true embodiment of heroic virtue in both husband and wife. But we must be ever so cautious in applying an ancient ethos to our distinctly anti-heroic rooster/hen culture

One has to see it an exageration and humoristic point of view too.

There is a real difference between a brave hero and a patronising scoundrel.. Unfortunately, the lines are often (deliberately) blurred.. Thanks for sharing Dimitrios.

While roosters stance comes out of its nature.Eulogising its heroism it is exactly what you notice I wanted to say.Of course we could not turn back to nature's stances, to its jungle.Humor is the salt of poetrry, we said.Do not forget it.

Yes he is the real hero of life, thanks for magnifying him while performing his duty and glorifying his beauty.

Thank you, dear Akhtar, for recignizing that the most heroism humans plead for are false ones.

The duty of the strong, male of female, is to protect the weak, male or female. The hens have done a lot for the rooster. He reciprocates. Humans - not so much.

Ηens may be eager to satisfy in reciprocally terms their genetic energy, but they are not ready to die even to protect themselves, while he, puts his life at stake, whenever the case demands it.
