Hero's Dependency Poem by Kyle Tadda

Hero's Dependency

We have our hero's of childhood lore,
to tales of warriors from ancient past.
Along with the legends of adventure, to the furthest of shores,
To the songs of man, who despite everything, held fast.

But, why would we need such hero's?
To protect us from tyrants like Roman Nero?
Should we not have the courage to fight for ourselves?
Why do we still dream, inspired by stories that clog up our library shelves?

That is the problem with humanity
Why must it take such strength to stand.
Why do we need heroes to preserve such unneeded insanity?
Don't we have the strength to confront our problems, empowered by our fellow humans reassuring hand?

That is the point of this written essay
To find why we find heroes a necessity.
So, with a common courage found throughout all of man,
Now, perhaps, we can find the strength to stand.

A Very pragmatic question, indeed. Thought provoking, if you like.
