Here

Didn't expect to be here
no not in the least
didn't expect to care so much
for the smallest of these
thought I'd run to a future
my old life kept me from
only to be lead back to a truth
with no where to run
what for me had been chance
frustrated couldn't force my way
the timing had always been out of my hands
wonder if the time will ever come for it to stay
didn't expect to be here
so safe on the other side
with the same voice I used to hear
still clear
the one I tried so hard to hide
