Her Bewailing By Reminiscing The Past (Section 121: By Thiruvalluvar) Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Her Bewailing By Reminiscing The Past (Section 121: By Thiruvalluvar)

1201. Mere thinking of orgasm sends one into raptures.
Drinking of palm-wine but brings euphoria.
1202. Remembering the lover gives him no pain.
Love in separation is always joyful.
1203. A bout of sneezing seems to come but passes away.
My lover seems to think of me but doesn’t.
1204. In my heart my beloved reigns supreme.
Do I overwhelm the whole of his heart?
1205. Careful he is to block my entry into his heart.
But he has no shame to infiltrate into mine.
1206. I live by pondering over the happy days with him.
What else do I have to keep my breath here?
1207. Even to reminisce the happy days with him burns my heart.
What shall I be if I forget the past?
1208. My lover resents me not however much I think of him.
Is it not the honour he bestows on me?
1209. “We’re one forever”, he said but deserted me.
My life departs recollecting his ungracious deeds.
1210. Set not O moon! My lover is gone but not from my mind.
To help me see him alive, shower your rays, O bright moon!
