Her Ankles Poem by Dorsey Baker

Her Ankles

shoe fitness and proper wear
walk around precisely
beautiful tall bushes
trying to conceal
a growth of grass

beauty is a vision
of oversight
and its value subject
to compromise

a certain feeling of tension
where the knee bends
and the thigh meets
the back of the calf

drawing the line between
perfection and a flaw
leaving nothing for
the imagination to
dwell upon
