Helpless Romantic Poem by Khaleel Steir

Helpless Romantic

Little man C, why do you shoot me first?
WHY! ? Can't you see my heart can't take the pain.
Shoot her first, so I'll know she's mine.

My words seem to evaporate like water in the desert when I talk to her
I don't know why, when I can talk down a man from a ledge.
Little Man C, I know your intentions are good but please stop.

She's one of the few who I've pour my heart out to like Orange Juice.
Except, just like the rest, she push the glass over and spill my heart, my soul on the floor
Why? What have I done to deserve this excruciating pain?

God Damnit Little Man C! You know how love works. Please make it a two way street.
She has the key to my heart, but won't open the door.
I can't take the waiting til somebody finally opens it.

I'm just a helpless romantic, taking chance after chance
hoping, praying I'll find love. Hoping I'll find the one.
But I will find her one day. I'll keep my head up and keep looking.
