Hello, My Name Is Your Name Poem by John W. McEwers

Hello, My Name Is Your Name

A friend once mentioned
there were 18 people with his name.
He'd searched himself
on the world wide web
and found
an oncologist
a school teacher
a college student in North Carolina

His other namesakes were
firefighters
restaurant managers
accountants.

He on the other hand
was a lineman at a tire factory,
and decided he was the worst Tom
of all the Toms.

I didn't want to find out
but I searched
'John W McEwers'
and all that floated
was poetry.
