Hell No Poem by Simon Odhiambo

Hell No

Unknown, lost and gone
We live in darkness
Green buidings for green trees
Clear roads for clear rivers
We are in wilderness

Storeyed houses for stored grains
Elephants out-sized by Twenty-wheelers
Eagles out-winged by the boeing wonder
This wilderness beats me slowly

No space left for burials, cremate at dawn
Have you seen the new sky-scrappers?
It leaves God jostling for space
We have finished the earth, hell be wary
We are coming for you in haste
