Heideabend - Wieczór na wrzosowisku (Polish Translation)

Eingedenk Goethe, Werther (Ossians Gesang)

Wandernd … über die Heide,
Umsaust vom Sturmwind …,
Der Erinn'rungen hinführt,

In dampfenden Nebeln …
Im dämmernden Licht …
Wandelnd wie der Barde,

Der Fußstapfen suchte
Und ach! Ergraut
Grabsteine fand …

Wieczór na wrzosowisku

Pamięci Goethego, Werthera
(Pieśń Osjana)

Wędrując … po wrzosowisku,
Owiany wichrem…,
Sprowadzającym wspomnienia.

W parujących mgłach …
W świetle mroku …
Tułając się jak bard,

Który poszukiwał śladów stóp
I och! Posiwiały
Odnalazł nagrobne kamienie …

poet Walt Whitman

ARM’D year! year of the struggle!
No dainty rhymes or sentimental love verses for you, terrible year!
Not you as some pale poetling, seated at a desk, lisping cadenzas
