Heavens Mourning Poem by Alyssa Baker

Heavens Mourning

The heavens weep
And the birds do not sing
The clouds drape low
And no light can get in

Today is a day I devote to thee
To remember and love
The one who was so devoted to me

For now her smell lingers
And my heart starts to pound
Remembering her light touch
That will never be found

He gave her to me
To this depraved earth
Then took her away
And left all to hurt

A beautiful wife
A wonderful mother
A special daughter
And darling sister

But now all is gone,
Without a lift of a finger
