Heaven's On Earth Poem by Leah Ayliffe

Heaven's On Earth

I am running back to the place
To the land where it all began.
You say that it's where I belong
Hell-bent to find the promise land.

We learned fast
We learned hard
That God has left us all.
But, you talk long
With one song
Crying 'we're free to fall'

Our voices go unnoticed
When we try to call out.
Where prayers are just noises,
Baby, please wont you just get up.

I can dance around the earth for you
Barefoot in the dirt for you
Sing about truth & beauty for you
Come on, run with me now.

Let laughter drive us
Like children
Who know nothing at all.
Drive long and
Drive far
Here on earth,
far away from the call.

Nice poem, but I think your last line is... well, forgive me, but weak. I'm a big fan of the hard edit, Leah. A minimalist to boot. Nice write.
