Heaven In Hell Poem by Michael Ernst

Heaven In Hell

I know little of God or the Devil
Though I've often heard the tale
How a good soul rises on angelic wings
Or a sinner descends pleading for mercy to no avail

I have not horns nor halo
Yes good and evil I have been
No angels do I see circling me
And perhaps demons do I possess within

Is there paradise above? A lake of fire below?
The Devil or God, I don't know anymore
But here on earth, my heaven left me in hell
When she walked out the door

As a supposition of the unknown, a good poem. I like the 'within', maybe dropp the 'and'. Maybe: Perhaps a demon or two within. Read mine - Everybody Has Had Somebody - Adeline
