Hearts Poem by Lizzie Lum

Hearts

Brave hearts
dare to die their truth
Young hearts
virginal by youth
Free hearts
glide like floating cloud
Black hearts
shield their love in shroud
Green hearts
ache for even score
Old hearts
they've seen it all before
Kind hearts
often give too much
Lone hearts
crave another’s touch
Pure heart vowed that “heart is mind”
think with love
To all hearts be kind

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem takes it's core theme from Buddhism...In Pali (a Middle Indo-Aryan language) , heart and mind are one word, but in English we have to differentiate between the two to make the meaning clear.
