Hearts Poem by The runner who hides

Hearts

8-28-08
Heart ripped out know worn on my sleeve
Heart used to be balled up in my chest and now it’s just a mess
I wear it on my sleeve like the braclets on my wrists

Now free to release it’s pain
To set it’s self free
No chains today
No cuts on my thigh
Heart set free to believe in well
To heal and to tell

Heart ripped out now worn on my sleeve
Used to be balled up in my chest now free to be hurt on my sleeve
The scars being torn open but never really shut
Open for so long and now back again

Heart ripped out and stomped on now picked up and dusted off
I can start to breathe
With a heart on my sleeve
