Heartless Poem by Kelly Batson

Heartless

You were pulled back in just to be tossed away
Like a nothing, they never have anything to say
About the truth, pain or bad intentions
Now all you’re left with is your self-redemptions

They pled that for them this is a second chance
As you accepted openly another dance
It ends tonight with wasted heart and ambition
Your soul a playground for them, a demolition

It’s not the first time a part of you inside has died
Piece by piece the pain begins to subside
This prisoner of war was never meant to fall
Cold and wounded you’re left behind to crawl
